I decided to start the new year right and headed out for a cold photowalk this afternoon. The girls were not interested in joining me. The gray skies and white, snowy fields blended into one another creating a monochromatic palette, only the blackened fingers of skeletal trees marking the border between the two.
I was chosen by a new word for the year – Discover. Prompted by my desire to discover more of the depths of photoshop, discover ways to improve my photography skills – both my eye and execution, and to be open to discovering new experiences and new joys, I embraced this word despite being a bit intimidated by it. I am excited for the journey. Since I’ve also decided to head into another photography 365 project, I’m sure I will also have to discover more creative ways to keep that practice going.
On the home stretch of my walk, I discovered that it’s not nearly as scary as I might have thought to just ask if I could take some photos of one of the regular dogs running in the field. I’ve been watching this beauty for a while, admiring his leaps and runs. Meet Reggie.

Cool photos! Cheers and Happy New Year!

Thanks, MJ! He is so much fun to watch. I was glad I got a chance to capture some of that beauty. I sure do miss you and the WildSpirits!
