Ohio Hurricane Redux

We learned today that yesterday’s storms were comparable to Hurricane Ike’s visit in 2008 except that the winds were clocked at 80-85 mph vs. Ike’s 75 mph ones. The power is still out at our house. We made several trips from our friends’ where we’re staying over and back to retrieve food from the frig and freezer and more changes of clothes. One of the casualties of the power outage were boxes of frozen cookie dough. Rather than lose them to thaw, I spent most of the day baking batch after batch after batch of cookies. We have enough to share with an army!

We are still hoping the power will return sooner than later, but the news I’ve heard is saying that it could be 5-7 days before everyone gets power back. Might be a looooong week.

Friskie came along on one of the many trips back and forth to our house. He was more interested in what was going on outside the car than staying still for his portrait.
