The girls were excited to be heading off to camp today.
Finally, it was time to check-in and find their cabins.
Malaika carried her own gear, it probably weighed as much as she does. She was a trooper but she ran out of tolerance for the camera with this one. We settled her into cabin 2 and there was already a friend from home in with her. She got her choice top bunk, too. As we were leaving to take her sister to Ranch, she was running off to grab another snow cone.
Adia was excited for her first time at Ranch. She’ll be spending all her time with the horses. She was placed in Tuscon cabin and was amazed at the size of the cabins at Ranch – about twice the size of those at the traditional camp. She got a great corner spot, a top bunk as well, and she settled in quickly. We left her on the porch with the several other campers and at least three cats.
I am so happy that the girls have taken to this tradition of spending time at summer camp. They talk about the camp all year long. I can’t wait to hear what stories they will come home with this year.
