I found this spent flower in the back corner of the little bed in front of my house, behind the hydrangea bush. I had no idea there even was a flower back there and have never seen anything in that spot in years past. As beautiful as it looks now, I bet it was gorgeous when it bloomed. I will have to keep a closer eye on this spot next year.

I am thinking that’s a Magic Lily. Very neat plant.

I does look like a Magic Lily but the common name I learned for it was Naked Lady (because it has no leaves). Tee hee!

I did look it up on Google and it does appear to be a Magic Lily. Other names for it listed were Naked Lady, Surprise Lily, etc. The info indicated that they will sprout up quickly after a heavy rain around this time of year, so I guess that’s what brought it up. It also said that they might be sporadic bloomers if they bulbs are crowded so in the spring I will have to dig and see if there is a cluster there that needs to be divided. What fun!
