Evening Graze

The road to the regular dog park was blocked this evening. Not sure if the road was impassible due to last night’s storm or what, but we had to make a trip to a different park. It was dusk and in the park just across the narrow parking lot from the dog play area, we noticed some evening visitors.

There was eight of them in total, spread out near the wooded edge of the grassy field.

The fawns were starting to lose their spots.

I’d never seen three bucks together before.

A sudden sound, like music from a passing vehicle, spooked the herd and they were off into the brush. I was still surprised that I could walk from the dog area, across the parking lot and into the field without the deer running. In the field, there was a soccer practice in progress. And a herd of deer at the outskirts. Pretty amazing.

The dogs, in the meantime, were having a great time.

Can you believe he’s a five month old?
